This is a random quick sketch I chose to do on the Delorean from Back to the Future, one of my favorite movies of all time. I’m not to particularly skilled at drawing vehicles for some reason, it always comes out a little funky to me. But this is one of the first and only drawings where the vehicle didn’t come out half bad. It took my about an hour to finish it entirely. About half an hour to sketch it and like 10 minutes to go over it with a marker and the additional time was adding the lightening effect to the side of the picture and practicing a little shading. Not one of my best sketches but I still like it.
Lol I was bored and we all got dressed fancy way back last year. I decided to make this into something funny. Not perfect but I like it, enjoy.
Brings a knife to a gun fight.
I’ve been really enjoying the work you’ve all be creating this week and I thought I do a little remix of Bugs Bunny vs. Mickey Mouse. As soon as I saw DarkLordDre’s cartoon I thought of the scene from the Untouchables in which Sean Connery’s character is setup by a knife wheeling hood, only to be gunned down on his fire escape. Connery’s famous quote, “Isn’t that just like a wop? Brings a knife to a gun fight,” has been part of a regular trope in fiction:
A character comes into the scene armed with what he thinks is sufficient, only to find out he is severely outclassed weapon-wise, because he brought the entirely wrong type of weapon (usually the superior weapon is revealed after the first person has committed to a fight).
Possibly I could say the same about this week’s creative challenge. ‘Never bring a JPG to a GIF fight – or I’ll animate the crap out of you.’
This is a drawing of a character to my favorite anime’s ever; Dragon ball. Goku is an extraterrestrial that was sent to Earth for it’s destruction but has a change of heart and becomes it’s protector. The story revolving around the anime is inspired greatly by Superman and the monkey king folklore in Asian culture and it’s one of my favorite stories of all time. As a kid I would spend countless hours sketching Dragon ball characters and to this day, although I don’t draw as much I still find myself drawing the many characters of the series.
