What’s your taste?

I personally think I don’t have a specific taste as of yet. I’m still in the process of finding a taste that expresses me. I like to draw and I have taken in consideration a lot of different art styles from different artists but none feels to to express how I see things. So I’m still in the process of finding/developing my own style and taste. Mimicry is really easy and I personally don’t want to copy another person’s taste just because it works and I like it. I personally would prefer to take what I like from different artist and develop my own style. If I am able to evolve and combine everything to a specific style that I can call my own; I would consider myself a successful artist.
There is a lot of things for me to improve on but one thing that I am happy about is my organization of my workflow. I am really confident about this because it took me quite some time to stay organize. This has helped me increase my efforts in research and development; whenever I’m in a process of creating something. As of now I can say I say within a months time, I will be able to create basic animations. Even though I just started the process of learning how to animate. I spend my time wisely when I have a goal in mind and I hard not to waste it. Also I would like to say that there is a lot of things I create but I don’t release a lot to the public because I personally don’t like the creation. I have the tendency to only show what I really like. This probably a field where I need to improve in and it is just showing off whatever I create. Because in the end no matter what I’m going to get some type of feedback. So my work just need to be critiqued and I plan to release more to the public with my newer creations. I’m still going to keep the lid on previous creations.

What’s Your Taste?

You spent week creating something everyday and posting it on this blog. You may not have actually done everyday. Why not? But regardless I believe that you revealed something about your taste in what you like to make and how you made it.

I want you to try and describe these tastes that are a part of how you might think of yourself as an artist or maker or whatever (if you hate labels). But this is not always an easy thing to do, so be willing to lean the things you made in the last week, or even in other spaces or other times. Where do think you’re work needs a little more, describe the bits you’re happy with and not so happy with.

And how are you going to make the time for yourself as Ira Glass suggests is necessary to get better at executing your taste.
